Weekend Loving

So I know it’s technically Thursday, but I feel like I owe you all a major update on my life the past few weekends. I alluded to that Cedar Point trip, promised pictures, and then proceeded to completely ignore it for more than a week.

But! This post will be loaded with photos, I promise!

First…Cedar Point. I don’t think I even need to say this, but it was absolutely fabulous. I am a total roller coaster fiend, so our three-day pass was just perfect. We even got in a good amount of time at the water park (with the swim up bar!!), which was just perfect for the hot August temperatures.

Here is an obnoxious number of photos from our trip!

Sunset on the lake our first night in town.

Little pond behind our cabin!

Home for the week.

Taken from the car, so it’s a little blurry, but this is Maverick, my absolute favorite ride in the park!

Millennium Force flies right past you as you are waiting in line.

This cracks me up, because my poor boyfriend, who is 6′ 8″, wouldn’t be able to ride half the rides.

Love this shot of the ferris wheel.

I may or may not have eaten ice cream for two separate meals on this trip…

The Cedar Point skyline at sunset from the observation tower.

What the whaaat? I don’t really know why I’m sharing this, but it feels necessary.

After being gone for five days, you would think I would stay put for a while, but after getting home on Wednesday I turned around and hit up Chicago for a visit to the boy on Friday night.

We usually just hang out and have low-key weekends when I come visit, but he surprised me with a trip to Milwaukee for the Wisconsin State Fair! I was so pumped. I haven’t been able to go to the Indiana fair, even though it is basically in my backyard, so I was beyond excited when I realized where he was taking me.

I only managed to take a few photos there before my phone died…

In the exposition hall, a company selling counter tops has this little guy on display. Can’t I just take him home instead?

You stay classy, Wisconsin.

How adorable are these baby cows??

Between petting nearly every animal known to the farming community (cows, horses, bunnies, baby goats, pigs, alpacas, and almost a scary-looking goose before I chickened out) and wandering through all the little booths they had set up, it was a pretty awesome day. We even got to see the horse races to end our night. And I definitely had my fair share of carnival food, as I ate my way through cheese curds, funnel cake, roasted corn, a strawberry chill, and some free chocolate samples.

This weekend I plan on laying on the couch and recovering from all this interstate travel. What are your plans?

I go to school in Ohio, very close to Cedar Point, and I haven’t been there yet after 2 years of school! Your post is my reminder to get my butt in gear. Thanks for the great photos!!
